Well, let me start by saying you don’t need to be smart to pull acts like Taylor swift or Olivia Rodrigo. Those acts are what we call no-brainers and it’s an easy decision on what to buy because you are buying anything you can get in your cart.

Now, for events we have no idea about or artists we don’t recognize, that is where we have to do some digging. I like to start by scouring some social media platforms to see how many followers they have.

I also find it interesting to see how many likes their tour announcements get and if their daily social media pics have numerous likes as well! This is just the beginning of my research.

I will also do a quick Google search of where they are from, not that this matters a ton, but I just like to know. Next, I will usually check the artist’s Spotify account to see how many listeners they have.

Another avenue is I want to know if the artist has new music and if a new album is out or will be coming out. Artists must have good songs and popular songs for the most part that will draw fans to want to see them.

These are just a few factors that go into deciding to pull an artist or an event — and even if everything I’ve researched looks favorable, we still may not buy a single ticket! Sometimes it’s good to save your money for another day.
