If you’ve ever tried pulling tickets on AXS before, you know how much of a nightmare it can be. Let’s go over some of the things that make AXS so challenging:

  1. When trying to get in the queue for a presale, AXS presents you with a page that shows numerous presales. Your goal is to choose the correct one based on the presale code you have. And if you choose the wrong presale, by the time you exit the queue, your code will not work and you have to start all over again.
  2. The videos that play while you’re in the queue are maddening. And if you have multiple tabs open (and your speakers on), the video will start playing simultaneously on all tabs — and you have to mute them one-by-one.
  3. Selecting seats can be a challenge. It seems nowadays that pulling shows on AXS is random — for one show you may have to click on seats; for another show you could simply choose “Best Available.” And when trying to click on seats, if you “miss” and click the background, the layout zooms out slowly and you have to zoom back in to click again. And that delay of zooming in and out will most likely cause you to lose those seats.
  4. Filtering shows is limited. Unlike Ticketmaster which gives you a few ways to filter like # of tickets, price range, and seat type (i.e. standard tickets vs. platinum), AXS is very limited in this regard.
  5. AXS is very good at “ghosting” seats. Simply put, they love showing you seats that appear to be available only to tell you they’re not. And when you close the message, the seats are still there — frustrating!
  6. Finally, if you are in the habit of hitting refresh, once you do so a certain number of times, AXS will show you a harsh message and prevent you from buying tickets the rest of the day on your current IP.

I don’t really have any tips and tricks to combat what I listed above. I just wanted to let you know that we all hate AXS — but we have no choice but to use them at times.
